The California State budget calls for a freeze on student fees for the 2003-04 academic year. Although the UCSC administration see this as a positive move towards easing the burden on students, this measure will require some cuts in the funds allocated to some student resources. In an effort to make the process more democratic, we are soliciting input from UCSC students on how to best spread these funding reductions across groups on campus.
Below is a list of some of the UCSC Student Organizations being considered for funding reductions. We need to reduce the funding to these 15 organizations by a total of $5,000 dollars, and are asking for your suggestions on how this might be accomplished. We will consider the recommendations of students who properly complete this survey as one source of information when designing our budget for next fall.
Next to the name of each organization is the amount provided during this year. In the space provided, please indicate the amount you recommend be provided to each organization during the 2004-05 academic year. |
